Van Oord Nederland building quay in Beverwijk

Van Oord Nederland has been awarded a contract to build a quay along Zijkanaal A in Beverwijk, The Netherlands.

The quay will have a length of 225m and a height of 12m. The contract also includes the design of the dredging work, the coastal and shoreline work, the land-based infrastructure and applying for the required permits.

The contract involves a sum of more than Euros 4 million.

Van Oord Nederland will commence work on the project in September 2008. The work will take approximately eight months, and the client is Abeko, an international plant hire company that specialises in earth-moving, transhipment, demolition, cutting and dredging equipment.

Abeko works on Van Oord projects throughout the world.
