DEME orders new generation trailer

News - January 2, 2009

| More

Following approval by the company's Board of Directors, DEME in Belgium has ordered a new mega-trailing suction hopper dredger.

The 'NG+' trailer will have a hopper capacity of 30,000m3 and will be built by IHC in The Netherlands. The vessel is scheduled to be commissioned early in 2011.

DEME said special attention has been given to limiting the draft of the vessel, to maximum 12m, in order to ensure that the trailer has the maximum possible operational flexibility.

More details about recent developments at DEME follow in subsequent issues of Dredging News Online.
