Vietnamese yard launches first dredger
New Vessels - February 5, 2009
Ben Kien Shipbuilding Industry Company in Vietnam reports that it successfully launched a dredger on January 12th.
The dredger, named Elbe, the first of its kind to be built in Vietnam, and has a capacity of 2,800 cublic metres.
The dredger is 79.8m long with a breadth of 15m and has a service speed of 10 knots. It can dredge at a depth of 30m.
The dredger was ordered by Baggerbedrijf de Boer BV - Dutch Dredging in The Netherlands.
Classificaton society Bureau Veritas provided classification and construction supervision.
