US: construction work continues at Oroville Dam

Project Updates // March 17, 2017

Redding.com reports that construction continues at Oroville Dam in the US as crews reinforce the damaged spillway and dredge debris from the pool at the bottom.

The spillway remains dry as there is no water being sent down, according to the Department of Water Resources. Inflows to the dam are about 14,000 to 20,000 cubic feet per second, raising Lake Oroville to 862 feet in a 24-hour period. Earlier this month, the DWR said it plans to send water down the spillway by the end of this week.

Crews have removed 1.14 million cubic yards of debris from below the spillway since construction work began last month.
