The Russian Foreign Ministry has rejected a complaint from the Ukraine about dredging work that a Russian dredger has been carrying out in the Kerch Strait.

Russian officials have reportedly handed a note to the Ukrainian embassy about accusations that the Russian dredger operating in the Kerch Strait is "violating Ukrainian territorial waters and Ukraine's sovereignty."

Interfax reported last week that Ukraine's charge d'affairs in Moscow was summoned on Friday and handed a note of reply to Ukraine's demands to stop the work, which is being carried out by the dredger Urengoi.
