Description: All reference to the presolicitation synopsis that was previously advertised under solicitation number N40084-05-R-6500 is referred to the correct solicitation number N40084-06-R-6500. The Government is soliciting for a design build contract to provide design, engineering and construction services to perform maintenance dredging at India Basin, U.S. Fleet Activities, Sasebo, Japan, under Solicitation N40084-06-R-6500. This will be issued as a Request for Proposal using best value source selection procedures. The project estimated value is over $5,000,000.00. The Government plans to issue the solicitation on or about 14 March 2006, and all work must be completed no later than 28 February 2007. The required dredging depth is 37 feet below MLLW (CDL). This depth includes an over-dredging allowance of 2 feet. All dredged materials shall be disposed in accordance with the laws of the Government of Japan (The sea pollution preservation law and the waste management & public cleaning law). The work includes performing design work, hydrographic surveys (soundings), magnetic surveys, providing a dredging execution plan, marine transportation plan, dredging, disposal of dredging materials into the authorized area, and all other incidental related work. All proposals/questions/comments shall be in the English language and price will be in Japanese Yen only. This will be an electronic solicitation only, and no paper solicitation will be issued. The solicitation will be available for downloading by visiting the electronic solicitation website at the following Internet address (URL): http://esol.navfac.navy.mil. Interested parties are encouraged to register prior to downloading the solicitation.
