Van Oord in the Netherlands has been awarded a contract for the deepening of the entry channel to the Pusan New Port in South Korea.

The client is the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries in Korea, and the contract is worth in excess of Euro 3 million.

Work was due to start by the end of May and is scheduled for completion in June.

Some two million cubic metres of silt will be dredged and deposited in specially built basins.

Van Oord will deploy trailing suction hopper dredger HAM 318.
