Dredging at Zhanjiang comes a step closer
Fairplay (www.fairplay.co.uk) reports that the dredging of a navigation channel at the port of Zhanjiang in Guangdong province, China is one step closer following approval of the feasibility report.
The State Committee for Reform and Development approved the report on 9th September. The plan is for the channel to be dredged to a depth that would allow ships of about 250,000dwt to enter at all states of tide and for ships of about 300,000dwt to enterat high tide. The total budget for the project is US$112 million.
