Coastal Structures conference due to take place in Oregon
A Coastal Structures Conference will take place August 26-29th 2003 at Embassy Suites,Portland, Oregon. Topics to be addressed will include: functional and structural design; rubble mound breakwaters, revetments, jetties; shore protection structures; caisson breakwaters; innovative structures; wave-structure interaction; physical modeling; geotechnical design and performance; and many other subjects, including dredge disposal caps/environmental containment.
The four-day symposium will include a plenary session, technical sessions, panel discussions, and workshops, as well as a trade exhibit and technical tour. Proceedings will be mailed post conference in book form.
The 2003 conference is the fourth in a series of conferences that highlight the significant advancements in coastal structure innovation, design, and construction. The first ASCE Coastal Structures Conference was held in Alexandria, Virginia in 1979, thesecond in Arlington, Virginia in 1983, and the third in Santander, Spain in
1999. The Proceedings for these three conferences have yielded milestone works and have been frequently cited references in the field.
